The Peace Caravan is designed to foster dignity, opportunity, and inclusion for young people across Kenya. By combining career guidance, educational advancement, civic engagement, and arts and cultural platforms, the initiative empowers youth to become active agents of societal change. For participating institutions, the caravan presents a unique opportunity to directly engage their target audience, showcase programs, and support youth empowerment initiatives, all within a nationally recognized peace and civic education framework.
Proposed Activities for Institutional Engagement
Institutions of higher learning and vocational colleges can participate in multiple ways:
3.1 Exhibition & Program Showcases
- Set up branded tents and exhibition spaces to display courses, scholarships, and career pathways.
- Conduct mini-workshops and seminars on enrolment, skill development, and professional readiness.
- Distribute information packs, brochures, and promotional materials.
3.2 Free Career Counselling & Guidance
- Offer one-on-one and group sessions with students seeking advice on higher education, vocational training, and career opportunities.
- Provide mock interviews, resume clinics, and mentorship sessions.
3.3 Skills Demonstration & Competitions
- Host live demonstrations of practical skills or interactive sessions for youth engagement.
- Conduct competitions, quizzes, and talent shows to attract attendees and promote learning.
3.4 Youth Dialogue & Civic Engagement
- Participate in interfaith and intercultural youth dialogues.
- Support sessions on peace, leadership, civic responsibility, and entrepreneurship.
3.5 Digital & Media Promotion
- Feature your institution in national media coverage, social media campaigns, and live streaming.
- Engage in the Peace Anthem Challenge, talent showcases, and social campaigns to amplify visibility.
