Restoring Dignity, Rebuilding Lives, Creating Peace.

MFWAFO Foundation is a grassroots Kenyan nonprofit restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity for the most vulnerable among us—especially elderly citizens, women, and youth. We empower communities through integrated, compassion-driven programs in elderly care, youth rehabilitation, economic empowerment, education, health, and peacebuilding.

What began as a simple act of feeding abandoned elders has evolved into a bold movement for social transformation—deeply rooted in healing, resilience, and justice.

We believe in a Kenya where no one is forgotten—where poverty, addiction, and neglect do not define futures, and where peace and purpose are within reach for all.

Our Story

MFWAFO was founded by Apostle Ndura Waruinge, whose powerful journey from radicalization to redemption inspired a mission to help others break free from cycles of violence, poverty, and despair.

Once drawn into extremism as a youth, Ndura’s transformation into a national voice for peace revealed a powerful truth: true change is holistic. Food without healing isn’t enough. Skills without peace aren’t enough. Hope without opportunity isn’t enough.

That’s why every MFWAFO program works as part of an integrated system—addressing the emotional, social, economic, and environmental dimensions of poverty in tandem.

Since our founding, we have:

  • Provided monthly food and psychosocial support to 1,500+ elderly citizens
  • Supported hundreds of youth through addiction recovery and reintegration
  • Trained 350+ women and youth in sustainable, income-generating enterprises
  • Planted over 5,000 indigenous trees through our eco-entrepreneurship initiative
  • Built trust, healing, and cohesion in communities once marked by division

Why We Exist

Millions in Kenya still live on the margins—trapped in a cycle of neglect, exclusion, and economic vulnerability. Elderly citizens go hungry. Youth fall into addiction. Women are denied opportunity. Families are fractured by unemployment, mental health struggles, and systemic inequity.

But we know this: when people are seen, nourished, and empowered—they rise.

MFWAFO exists to walk with these individuals—to listen, to serve, and to co-create new possibilities for lives once written off.

Our Vision

A world where the twilight years of our elders shine with dignity and respect; where the youth rise from the shadows of struggle into the light of hope and opportunity; where women and persons with disabilities stand proudly as pillars of strength and inclusion. A world where communities breathe health, nurture peace, and grow in harmony with the earth—woven together by the threads of compassion and resilience.

Our Mission

To kindle the flame of hope and restore the sacred dignity of every individual by weaving together the wisdom of generations through inclusive, intergenerational, and climate-conscious programs. We strive to unlock doors to economic freedom, open pathways to education and opportunity for all, heal the wounds of youth through recovery and reintegration, nurture holistic wellbeing, protect the planet’s fragile beauty, and sow seeds of peace that blossom into resilient, thriving communities.
